Your dentists, Dr. Alan Rembos and Dr. Jose Alvarez, strongly recommend flossing at least once a day. This is because flossing is vital for your oral health and smile. Flossing helps you have clean and strong teeth and gums and it can help you prevent dental issues, like tooth decay and gum disease. If you forget to floss, your smile could be in grave danger. So, it’s important to remember to floss. To help you do so, our dentist encourages you to do the following things:

-Set a reminder for yourself: You can do this by writing it on your calendar on the wall, by setting a reminder on your phone, or by writing on a sticky note and placing it on the bathroom mirror. Make sure to remind yourself once a day.

-Keep your floss by your toothbrush: If you keep your floss by your toothbrush, you’ll see it every time you brush. This can help you remember to floss after you brush at least once a day.

-Keep floss handy: Put dental floss in your backpack, purse or briefcase. This can remind you to floss throughout the day because you will see it often. This can help you if you don’t have enough time in your morning or night routines to floss. This way you can floss after lunch, before your big presentation or before a meeting. This can also help you avoid embarrassing food-filled smile moments.
